German Parliament Will Put Genocide Resolution to Final Discussion on April 30
The German Bundestag will put the resolution which calls the planned extermination and displacement of 1.5 million Armenians in the Ottoman Empire in 1915 a genocide to final discussion on April 30, Armenpress informed. During the plenary session on April 24 Bundestag decided to call a session of the foreign affairs committee on April 30 and respond to 9 speeches in 7 of which the members of parliaments called the extermination of Armenians, Greeks and Assyrians in Ottoman Turkey in the early 20th century Genocide. The discussion in Bundestag lasted for 2 hours instead of the planned year. The ruling coalition, the leftists and the Greens made reports. The resolution proposed by the biggest parliamentary groups states that the planned extermination and deportation of over 1 million ethnic Armenians is an example of mass extermination, ethnic cleansing, deportation and genocide.
